Our History
Sun Rental was established in June of 1961 by Frank Felice and his two sons Tom and Larry. It all started when Frank read an article in Reader’s Digest about the up-and-coming rental business. They began with just $9,000 worth of equipment and tool rentals (lawn mowers, tillers, and other residential tool rentals) on the 2-acre lot they lived on. Today, this is the Sun Rental showroom located on Mentor Avenue.
Sun Rental has experienced constant growth due to our commitment to our customers’ needs. Today, we are a second and third generation, part woman owned, full service rental center providing event & party, equipment & tool and storage unit rental equipment to our customers. We are active in our community’s social and economic activities and support many of its programs (Mentor Board of Education, Lakeland Community College, and Mentor Police Department).
The rental industry is an energetic and growing industry. It is our job to remain knowledgeable about the industry and acquaint our customers with the concept of renting products and provide recommendations on the best products to meet their needs.
